Cranberry Tangerine Sauce

Simple three ingredient cranberry sauce in less than twenty minutes.

Cranberry Sauce

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, just a few days away! Time to share with you this simple and delicious cranberry and tangerine sauce.
Nothing fancy, it can be in made in a flash with just three ingredients: cranberries, tangerines, and sugar.

Tangerines are a great complement to the cranberries. They are a smaller, sweeter version of an orange. Their small size makes for easy juicing with a citrus press and their naturally sweet flavor pairs well with the tart cranberries.

This can be made several days in advance and refrigerated until you are ready to use on the big day!

Cranberry Tangerine Sauce

Makes 2 Cups

2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
1 Cup Sugar
2/3 Cup Fresh Squeezed Tangerine Juice - from 3 to 4 Tangerines
1/2 Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Tangerine Zest - from 2 Tangerines

Add cranberries, sugar, tangerine juice and water to a saucepan. Stir to combine. Cook mixture on high until it reaches a boil, reduce heat. Once mixture is at a simmer, add tangerine zest and simmer for 12-15 minutes, until cranberries start to burst. Remove from heat, sauce will thicken as it cools.

Note: This is just a touch on the tart side, you may want to adjust sugar to add ¼ to ½ cup more if you would like it a bit sweeter.

  1. Cranberry sauce is a staple part of my Christmas dinner. I love the stuff. I have never tried it with another ingredient though, but I could be tempted with this!
