Hot Fudge Sauce

Three ingredient homemade hot fudge sauce in less than ten minutes.

Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

Joybee, What's for Dinner? The Adventures of Noble & Pond

Do you have a can of condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder on hand? Then you can have homemade hot fudge sauce in less than
ten minutes. Super easy and makes more than those small jars you pay a fortune for at the grocery store. The extra can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator and warmed as needed, per the instuctions in the recipe below. Don't worry, it stays soft enough to easily scoop straight from the container even after it has been refrigerated; and warms up just beautifully.

I made this to use for a Chocolate Covered Cherry Brownie Sundae recipe I will be sharing soon. Make sure to stop back by later or suscribe to Christy's Cooking Creations by email so you don't miss this yummy treat that is perfect for Valentine's Day.

Hot Fudge Sauce

1 – 14 Ounce Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 to 3/4 Cup Cocoa Powder (The more you use the richer the taste, I used 3/4 cup)
4 Tablespoons Salted Butter (No substitutes)

In a small saucepan on low heat, melt butter. Add condensed milk once butter is completely melted, whisk together and allow to warm through; about five minutes. Whisk in cocoa powder a little at a time. Remove from heat and serve as desired.

Note: Store this in a closed container in the refrigerator, it reheats nicely. Scoop desired amount in bowl and reheat in 20 second increments in microwave, stirring in between each increment, until fully warmed. Or place desired amount in a small saucepan and reheat on low on stove top, making sure to stir often.

  6. The only thing better than hot fudge in 10 minutes is hot fudge with only 3 ingredients in 10 minutes! Great recipe. Glad I saw it on #fridayfeature Link Up over at Oh My Heartsy Girl. Pinning for future reference. I just wanted to ask, does using salted butter help to counter balance the sweetness? I tend to stick to unsalted butter for all my baking but happy to make the change for this easy recipe!!

    1. Hi Kelly, I use salted butter in this recipe which probably does help with the balance, it is rich. I have never tried it with unsalted butter, but I'm sure you could just use a pinch of salt and it would be fine. I do hope you get a chance to try it. Thanks for visiting :)
